Neat, stylish design gives users great images, versatility and portability. Creative (Nasdaq: CREAF), the worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for the personal computer and the Internet, today announces the Creative PC-CAM 550, the new dual-mode WebCam that captures stills and video on the move or on the desktop. Reflecting the innovative thinking and design leadership that put Creative first on the market with dual-mode WebCam technology, the new PC-CAM 550 connects to a PC via USB and is quickly and easily detached when users want to move outside.

The PC-CAM 550 comes with a superb package of bundled software that enables users to hold live video chats with friends, capture images and share them via email and even make crisp, clear films! For exterior use just detach it from its adjustable stand and it's ready to take mini-movies as well as stills, drawing power from four standard AAA batteries. The 8MB of built-in memory will store video or up to 88 images at a resolution of 1.3 megapixels (interpolated), 88 images at 640x480, or 195 images at 320x240. In desktop mode, the PC-CAM 550 captures still images or video in 16.7 million colours at resolutions up to 640x480.

The PC-CAM 550 has a stylish, modern design that fits comfortably in the hand, a 640x480 CMOS sensor that adapts quickly to variations in light, auto flash with selectable settings, shot timer and other adjustments that make capturing the right shot quick and easy.

"Your WebCam shouldn't hold you back," explains Geraldine Lee, European business manager for WebCams with Creative. "When the great outdoors calls, users just grab their PC-CAM 550 and go! And when they're back at their PC, they can use the great software provided to download and manage their stills or mini-movies. If they want to chat on-line, archive or manage their pictures, or create their own fun movies for the family, this WebCam is perfect - it adds fun to friendship!

"It's also versatile, convenient and simple," she adds. "Just what you'd expect from the company that knows PC entertainment best." Available to buy now, the PC-CAM 550 will cost £69.99inc VAT.
