Canon has announced that it is pulling out of the analogue camcorder market from the end of the year. The company has sited that it wants to focus more on the emerging digital market instead.
Camera companies have seen a rapid switch from silver halide to digital market
in the past couple of years as consumers opt for digital models that are lighter and offer more advanced functionality.
Canon has promised to stock parts for the current analogue range for the next seven years, hoping by which point there will be few models out there that need repairing.
