Acer expands its handheld range with the new N30 Pocket PC model

27 May 2004 17:39 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Acer has announced a follow on to the N10 range- the N30. The new handheld device features Bluetooth connectivity and not much else. Acer however acknowledging the shortfalls of the product are not pitching this against the multimedia rich Zire 72 or the top range of the market like the HP4150.

Instead Acer seem to be content to capture those who simply want just a straight forward PDA. However for the £200 price point Acer has earmarked this product at, it needs to have a lot more features if it is going to compete in the highly competitive PDA market.

If consumers want a simple PDA they are more likely to opt for one of the iPaq, sub £200 range or go with the Zire 72 costing the same amount as this unit but with more multimedia rich features.
