Apple admits that some MacBooks overheat due to removable blockage The company has posted a notice about the problem on their service website

Apple has addressed concerns that some new MacBook owners have raised over the overheating of their new notebooks by posting an official statement on its support site.
It recognises that some MacBooks may be running too warm or have the fan running constantly, and that the fault lies in a blocked rear vent.
The message reads in part: "Some MacBooks may have left the factory with a thin piece of clear plastic covering the rear vent. This is used in the factory to prevent dust from getting into your computer. If your MacBook has the plastic still over the vent, simply remove and discard it."
