Sharp releases new Aquos TV models

Eight TVs bring even larger widescreen models to the range

NEWS: 14 June 2006 14:50 GMT by Amber Maitland

The Sharp Aquos range has received a boost in the form of eight new HD-ready televisions.

Potential buyers can choose between them depending on which features they value most highly, as the four GD models offer integrated digital Freeview, while the two GA9's have been awarded the EU Eco-label for low energy consumption.

All of the models feature an impressive contrast ratio of 1200:1 and 1366x768 pixel resolution, as well as 6ms response time for better viewing of fast-moving images.

The viewing angle has been improved to 176 degrees, so that the screen can be viewed easily from the sides.

As with all Aquos TVs, each model comes with a low-reflection Advanced Super View Black TFT LCD panel for enhanced picture quality, with brightness at 450cd/m2.

HDMI In digital interface with HDCP support is integrated into all the sets, as well as two Scart connections, AV/S-Video In, Audio Out, PC In and headphones. The GA9/GD9 models come with an extra HDMI In.

Auto Volume Control ensures that sound levels are stay at the same level as the programme being viewed, while Clear Voice Function enhances on-screen dialogue.

The names of all the models are: LC-32GA8E, LC-37GA8E, LC-32GD8E, LC-37GD8E, LC-32GA9E, LC-37GA9E, LC-32GD9E, LC-37GD9E
