Hugh Jackman has been voted Best Dad in an online poll run by Hellomagazine.

The Aussie actor, best know for playing Wolverine in the X-Men trilogy has been voted best celebrity dad in the magazine's online poll, beating other A-list fathers including Will Smith and Tom Cruise to take pole position.

The doting dad won 28% of the votes, narrowly beating Johnny Depp who walked away with 26% of the total count.

Hugh, who has two adopted kids Oscar, five, and baby girl Ava, describes parenthood as a "privilege".

According to the magazine, despite playing tough, muscle-bound Wolverine in the X-Men trilogy, the actor happily admits that his daughter turns him to "mush".

Child-at-heart Johnny Depp came a close second after showing his devotion to kids Jack and Lily-Rose.

Men In Black star Will Smith, who is the perfect father according to wife Jada Pinkett Smith, came third, while fellow actors Antonio Banderas, Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx took fifth, sixth and seventh places.
