Notebook maker Rock is the first to ship Intel's new chip in its PCs

Dual Core processor to come standard in the Xtreme CTX T2700

NEWS: 17 July 2006 14:36 GMT by Amber Maitland

Notebook manufacturer Rock are the first in the UK to build notebooks with Intel's Core Duo T2700 CPU.

The Xtreme CTX T2700 starts at £1499 ex VAT, and includes a boosted 512MB nVidia GeForce GO 7900 GTX video card without any price increase.

Nick Boardman, CEO of Rock, said, "This new release puts Rock ahead of the pack once again. We're delighted to be the first to ship notebooks with this great new dual core processor".

"Customers will notice an incredible difference in performance, making it perfect for power hungry applications and games."

The notebooks are built to order, so each can be customised and upgraded. Standard, the new notebook comes with 1GB DDR2 667MHz RAM, a 100GB hard drive, and an 8x Dual Layer DVD writer.

If this isn't enough to entice you, maybe a voucher for one month's free wireless access to The Cloud's network, worth all of £11.99, will.
