Orange introduces the SPV M3100 smartphone

Offers every connection under the sun

NEWS: 10 August 2006 12:11 GMT by Amber Maitland

Orange’s latest smartphone is being touted by the company as a replacement for a notebook computer.

The SPV M3100 connected PDA is able to use 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, and HSDPA networks.

Running on the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform, the smartphone supports push email with enhanced security features, as well as Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, and calendar functions.

Other functions include a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, USB, infrared and quad-band GSM connectivity, a 2.3MP camera, a loud speaker, and voice dial and command.

Oddly, the device, only comes with a meagre 128MB of internal memory.

The PDA costs £315 ex VAT, or free to Orange customers on a £40 monthly contract and above.
