Mobile game publisher Gameloft is bringing two hit TV shows to the mobile phone, thanks to a deal with Touchstone Television.

"Lost"- and "Desperate Housewives"-based mobile games will be released in January. Gameloft has already developed and marketed a game based on Fox's "The OC", which included minigames, social interactions, and locations from the show.

Gameloft president Michel Guillemot said, "'The OC' was a perfect choice for us because the story line, with all of its scandal, intrigue, suspense and drama, made for a great mobile game; it gave us a lot of room to play with creatively".

"It's the same thing with 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Lost'. Both shows have a massive following that resonates with millions of viewers each week."

No details on plot or storyline have been released yet, but Gameloft is working with the show's writers in order to tie the games closely to weekly episodes.

Gameloft is hoping that the "Desperate Housewives" game will appeal to older women who don't usually use their mobiles for gaming, while "Lost" should tap in to the show's vast fan base.

"Lost" is also the focus of a game in development by Ubisoft for video game consoles and handhelds.
