Making light work of the showers with the Night Brolly

9 August 2004 20:34 GMT / By Stuart Miles

It's supposed to be summer, but of course the rains have come. However Firebox, taking entrepreneurial levels to the maximum are selling umbrellas to protect you from the storms. What's so gadgety about that I hear you cry. Well this brolly, called the Bright Night Umbrella includes a small but powerful waterproof bulb that bathes the holder in light.

The aim is to provide extra safety and visibility on rainy days and gloomy nights. Available in four colours and supposedly capable of withstanding tough winds upto 40mph the light is powered by four AA batteries and offers 3 hours on one set.

Each brolly comes with a spare bulb and costs £35 and available from Firebox.com
