Kensington has launched a new notebook dock that promises to let people use all their peripherals with no loss of PC performance.

The Notebook Expansion Dock VGA provides a single USB connection to most desktop peripherals, including a 19-inch monitor, features plug-and-play technology to select the best available monitor settings automatically, and automatically reboots the correct display settings whenever the display is unplugged or replugged to the dock.

It uses Clear View technology to ensure that the device operates in 24-bit colour, and uses smart video compression so that bandwidth requirements can be managed effectively.

Other features include a wedge-design to lift the notebook to optimum height for cooling, monitor/video port, Ethernet port, 4 USB2.0 ports, stereo audio-out, and audio-in jacks.
