Ricoh has launched a new variation of its Caplio 500 series which features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.
Although details are sketchy Ricoh has announced two additions to its Caplio range.
The Bluetooth 2.0 500SE model B and the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi 500SE model W.
According to reports on the web, the W version supports 802.11b and g, plus WEP and WPA/WPA2 security.
Early this year Ricoh launched a new water, dust and shock resistant digital camera in Japan within the same series and it looks like the two new models feature a similar design and feature set.
Both have an 8.13-megapixel CCD and 3X optical zoom, and feature a 2.5-inch LCD on the back just like the 500G.
That model originally replaced the company's 3 megapixel Caplio 400G wide that was originally launched in January 2004.
Weight and pricing are both hefty; the 500SE clocks in at 482g with battery on board, and will cost you Y115,500 ($990) for the Bluetooth model and Y130,200 ($1100) for the Wi-Fi unit.
No word as to whether these will be coming to the UK.
We will keep you posted.
