BenQ’s latest camera is a 10MP whopper called the C1000, and takes over from the previous C800.

The C1000 features a 3x optical zoom and a 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen on the rear. It’s major selling point, apart from the high resolution, is a range of user-friendly modes.

PASM mode turns the camera fully manual, while its 8-second shutter speed night scene mode lets people capture clear and sharp images at night, as long as they use a tripod. Four continuous shot mode means that users can catch moving objects in quick succession, as the camera’s buffer can handle four continuous shots before it slows down.

Other featuers include VGA movie recording at 30fps, support for PictBridge printing, and a 24MB built-in memory.

The C1000 is on sale now for around £190.
