Belkin issues recall for travel adapter If used incorrectly, could give user a shock

Belkin has issued a recall of its Universal AC Travel Adapter because of a potential hazard if used incorrectly.
Belkin’s statement says: “Although the adapters do not pose any risk if used correctly, Belkin has voluntarily initiated a global recall of this product … Should they be used incorrectly by inserting a plug as per the image below, there is a risk that in the even of making contact with the live exposed pin, a user may experience a 220 or 240V shock".
Belkin, unlike a Japanese battery manufacturer that we could name, readily offers an apology: “Belkin apologises for the inconvenience caused by this issue and asks all owners of these adapters to contact Belkin’s European Customer Service Department … to organise the product’s return and reimbursement".
