On the day that is seeing most companies launching their digital cameras ready for Photokina, Olympus has announced new models: the C-70 and the C-370.

The C-70 offers 7.1 megapixels with a 5x optical and 6x digital zoom all in a metal body. It will also feature a 2.0in LCD display on rear, connectivity via USB3 and PictBridge and be capable of recording movie footage at 25fps

The C-70 ZOOM is planned for release in October 2004, priced £420

The C-370 is a more humble model and offers 3.2 million pixels and a 3x optical zoom lens. It will have a 1.5in LCD display, and interestingly for Olympus come with 12Mb of internal memory rather than an xD Card in the box. Powered by two AA batteries the camera is also PictBridge compatible. The Olympus C-370 ZOOM will be available from October 2004, priced £120.
