Buffalo offers DriveStation Combo external drive with double connectivity

NEWS: 7 November 2006 17:29 GMT by Amber Maitland

Buffalo Technology has expanded its line of external hard drives with the release of the DriveStation Combo.

The device features a single SATA drive and has both FireWire and USB2.0 interfaces. More sophisticated than other external drives, the Combo boasts three automatic settings: Auto Setup, Auto Power-On, and Auto Backup with Memeo backup software. The backup system can be further customised with regular system backup, scheduled backup, and password protection.

The DriveStation Combo comes in a 160GB version for £60; 250GB for £77; 320GB for £94; 500GB for £145; and 750GB for £298 (all prices ex VAT).

The device joins its siblings, the DriveStation, which comes with just a USB2.0 interface; the DriveStation Duo, with USB2.0 and FireWire connectivity and two SATA drives and RAID 1; and the MiniStation, a small, lightweight, shock-resistant portable hard drive.
