Mazda gives first look at new concept car

Mazda Goes With The Flow

NEWS: 15 November 2006 9:59 GMT by Jonathan Goddard

Mazda has revealed a rather enigmatic first look at its new concept car.

The Nagare will get its first public viewing at a motor show in Los Angeles later this month, and follows 2006 reveals of Mazda concepts Sassou, Senku and Kabura.

According to Laurens van den Acker, general manager of Mazda’s design division, the word "flow" is at the hub of Mazda’s future design ethos, not that the picture really shows anything to prove it.

A Mazda spokesman droned: “Inspired by the movement of nature’s elements, our designers have captured motion, energy and lightness, translating into a beautiful language of lines and forms that are powerful yet effortless, provocative yet strikingly seductive”.

In Los Angeles, Mazda will also be showing the Mazda CX-7 crossover SUV, the Mazda CX-9 three-row and seven-passenger SUV, and the Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe with power retractable hardtop. The show starts on November 29.
