BT signs up Channel 4 for on-demand service

Catch up on last week's programming with BT Vision

NEWS: 16 November 2006 10:47 GMT by Amber Maitland

BT has signed up another TV network to its on-demand BT Vision service that was originally scheduled to launch this Autumn.

In the new deal, Channel 4 will make its programming available via 4oD, Channel 4’s on-demand service. BT Vision customers will be able to access titles from the archives, including Shameless, Queer as Folk, Jamie’s School Dinners, and Father Ted.

In addition, customers will also be able to watch movies from Film 4 on demand, including titles like East is East, A Room with a View, and Secrets and Lies.

The service also lets users catch up on programmes from the previous week’s broadcast schedule.

BT Vision customers will be able to access both Freeview channels as well as interactive service and film, music, and TV programming without a subscription, once they’ve bought a set-top box. The device, made by Philips, has a hard drive big enough for 80 hours of programming.
