After a long wait, BT is finally unveiling its BT Vision digital TV service on 4 December.

The company has signed up a wide range of programming providers in order to bring premium content to customers and subscribers. The first content deals were signed last December with BBC Worldwide, Paramount, and Warner Music Group.

The service allows customers to enjoy a range of on-demand film, music, and TV programming as well as interactive and communications services through their TV sets without the need for a satellite dish. Philips is supplying the set-top box, while Microsoft agreed to provide the software platform, TV IPTV Edition.

The set-top box will include a personal video recorder that can store up to 80 hours of programming, and deliver hi-def content. BT customers are set to receive the service without the need for a subscription, although some content will only be available through pay per view.

FA Premier League on demand will be available through the service, as well as music content from Sony BMG, and films from Universal Movies.
