Having made the transition from the film world into digital, Jessops is now dipping its toe into the wider consumer electronics market with the launch of a new online retail outlet.

Tecno.co.uk is the company's first foray into non-photography consumer electronics, and will take on not only popular high-street retailers like Dixons and Currys, but also go head to head with ever-expanding Tesco and Asda.

The site sells all major brands, including Sony, Panasonic, JVC, Apple, Motorola, and TomTom, and is on schedule to market up to 3000 products by Spring 2007.

Pushing good customer service as a major selling point of the new site, it promises that customers can place an order up to 5pm, and receive a guaranteed next-day delivery on most goods.

“Tecno will fill a gap in the market for the growing number of online consumers who can shop for a wide range of consumer electronics with the reassurance of buying from a company they know and trust", said Chris Langley, CEO of Jessops.
