Google and Sky sign service agreement
Google services to be integrated into Sky broadband

Sky and Google have teamed up on Sky's broadband service to bring customers Sky-branded, Google-based technologies.
The two companies will team up in three areas, namely video, communications, and search and advertising.
In the first area, Sky plans to launch a user-generated video portal powered by Google's video content tools. Like YouTube and countless other video sharing sites, Sky's portal will encourage users to upload content and share it, with the added benefit of being able to upload and download straight from and to a mobile phone.
In addition, Sky broadband customers will have access to a Google Mail account but will be able to use @sky.com instead of @gmail.com. Sky also plans to “explore opportunities” in Google's VoIP services.
Finally, Google's search and advertising tools will be used across Sky's portfolio of websites, which will help Sky to tap into the UK's large online advertising market.
The two companies have not revealed the financial terms of the deal.
