Roxio has brought out a piece of software, DVDit Pro HD, that is capable of creating high-quality Blu-ray disc movies on a PC.

Designed primarily for video professionals and enthusiasts who have been recording video in high-definition since the first HD camcorders were released, the software gives them the chance to make HD menus for their movies.

Available for a hefty £470, the software offers an intuitive user interface and straightforward workflow to achieve professional results with minimal effort. It supports both DVD and Blu-ray formats.

For professionals, DVDit Pro HD includes a 32-track subtitles editor, support for DLT and CMF, and content copy protection.

The application can deliver 1080p, 1080i, or 720p output on Blu-ray discs, and transcodes MPEG2, AVI, QuickTime, and Windows Media Video into Blu-ray compatible video.

Users can either build still and motion menus from the application's HD Menu Compositor, or import HD menus from Photoshop.
