Iomega adds 500GB drive to its MiniMax range

8 December 2006 12:44 GMT / By Amber Maitland

Iomega has added to its range of MiniMax Drives, designed for the Mac mini.

The latest addition is a 500GB version, which is double to size of the previous largest drive in the range.

The MiniMax is built with a similar design and same size as the Mac mini, so that it stacks with the desktop. It features a three-port USB hub, three FireWire ports, and a smart power switch that powers up and down with the Mac mini.

The 500GB hard drive is a 7200 RPM version with 8MB cache. It's bundled with Dantz Retrospect backup software, which allows you to safely and regularly back up important data.

The drive can also be reformatted for use with a Windows PC; it's available now for around £165.
