Ubisoft reveals details on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game

Ready to rumble in March

NEWS: 21 December 2006 14:11 GMT by Amber Maitland

Yesterday Pocket-lint reported on the full line up of titles that would be available in the coming months for the Nintendo Wii and DS consoles.

One of these is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), and game developer Ubisoft has announced more details of the game, which is to be released the same day as the feature-length CGI film.

TMNT will have its debut on 23 March for Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, PC, Game Boy Advance, DS, GameCube, and Wii.

The Turtles will experience their most trying times as heroes and as a family, as Leonardo and Splinter have to get Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo back on track.

Gamers will be able to harness the power of Ninjitsu and become master of combat, as each Turtle is playable and offers different acrobat moves, weapons, and skills. Turtles get around by jumping from rooftops, scaling buildings, swimming through sewers, and running through the streets to confront evil.

When working together the Turtles can team up to reach locations unattainable alone, or consolidate their powers.

“The TMNT movie is all about the emotions associated with family and teenage angst,” said Nick Harper, creative director of the TMNT game at Ubisoft. “We’ve taken that philosophy and turned it into gameplay mechanics that will be fun and challenging.”
