“January sales” – we can remember when that meant the sales that actually started in January. Not these days, which is why we’re recommending this index today, Boxing Day.

Scanning down the list of online retailers with sales starting, you can see that many started before Christmas, but today seems to be when most bargain fiestas kick off.

We can’t actually imagine anything worse then going shopping again so soon, but if you must, this is a useful guide to who’s selling what and at what prices.

We’re just going to sit here and nurse our hangovers and contemplate our expanded waistlines if you don’t mind…
