As a follow-up to the stylish K5 MP3 player released at IFA in August, Samsung has removed the slide-out speakers to produce the K3.

Rumours of the K3 have been circulating for a few weeks, but Samsung chose to wait until CES to make it official.

Samsung calls it a “pocket-and-gym friendly” device that measures just .27-inches thick. With a one-button design, the K3 lights up at a touch to reveal a 1.8-inch colour OLED screen.

Any easy-to-use menu system takes you through music as well as JPEG images; the K3 also has a built-in FM radio tuner. It supports music subscription services including Napster, Rhapsody, and Yahoo, as well as MP3, WMA, and DRM10 formats.

Battery life lasts up to 25 hours. The K3 will be available in 2GB, 4GB, and 6GB models, and although there's no word on pricing yet as it won't be available until March, it's likely to be a little bit less than the K5, which retails for $180 for the 2GB model, and $230 for the 4GB one.
