Apple launches Photo iPod

Apple has announced a new iPod that will allow you to store images alongside your music tracks.

The iPod Photo will offer a 2in colour screen for displaying images and will come in 40GB or 60GB models. The two new models to the range can hold up to 10,000 or 15,000 songs respectively, and an improved extended battery life promises to gives users up to 15 hours of music playback or up to 5 hours of slideshows.

The new player will sync with both Apple's iTunes music software and Apple's iPhoto software to transfer music and images and the player will offer a slideshow mode, as well as, a TV out option for displaying your images on a television.

The new 40GB and 60GB iPod Photo models will begin shipping today for a suggested retail price of £359 and £429 respectively, through the Apple Store.
