Dog Walker treadmill takes the strain out of exercising your puppy

29 January 2007 18:13 GMT / By Amber Maitland

And now from Japan comes yet another slightly oddball gadget, the Dog Walker treadmill.

Instead of taking your dog for a walk thereby burning a few calories yourself and exercising with your pet, you can buy him or her a doggy-sized treadmill.

At the front are castors so the thing can be moved around your house, while at the sides are two shields so that your dog doesn't accidentally fall off.

The chance of hurting your pet is minimised as the speed has been limited from 0 to 5km/hour.

The dog in the picture looks none-too-happy; wonder how Pocket-lint's resident puppy, Boston, would take to it?

It costs around 15,800yen, or £66.

  • How can I purchase this Dog Walker treadmill. I walk my my mini dachshund dog almost daily, but there are days when it is too hot or when it rains too much that walking outdoor is not possible., I still like to make sure she gets her exercise so that is a backup for her. Please let me know if I can order this. Thank you.
