The Cold War may well be a distant memory to most, but people's fascination with the era never seems to diminish.

Today at the RAF Museum in Cosford, Shropshire, the National Cold War Exhibition is opened, displaying a unique collection of military machinery from the Cold War era. The vehicles used during events such as the Berlin Aircraft and the Cuban Missile Crisis are a fasciating look at the development of military technology and this exhibition covers the lot.

This official site however, doesn't stop at tanks and aircraft. The archive section covers all aspects of the Cold War including concise biographies of the main protagonists.

There's also podcasts, fun & games, an online classroom and, once the museum has opened, a virtual tour of the exhibits.
