Following the launch of its UMPC earlier in the week, Sony has launched the G11 notebook, a light, portable PC designed for business travelers.

The G11 contains the latest Intel Ultra-Low Voltage (ULV) processor and Gigabit Ethernet for super-fast network connections. It also has the promise of a battery life of 9 hours, long enough to keep you going through the typical working day.

The 12.1-inch XGA resolution screen is designed for business, with a 4:3 aspect ratio rather than widescreen format. The G11 also features Gigabit Ethernet for super-fast network connections, potentially saving time in the office and an integrated multi-format Dual Layer DVD±RW/RAM optical drive.

Alongside the G11 Sony are launching upgrades to the AR30 and TX5. The VAIO AR30-Series is the latest version of the first notebook to showcase an integrated Blu-ray Disc optical drive. Created to be the ultimate Full HD entertainment notebook, the flagship VGN-AR31S offers users the ability to edit their personal HD video content and then burn it onto a Dual Layer 50GB Blu-ray drive as well as all the benefits of Blu-ray playback.
