Are Microsoft launching a new search engine?

It seems every major news service online has it on good understanding that Microsoft will launching its very own search engine tomorrow. From Reuters to CNN everyone is putting their money on Thursday for launch day.

Mircosoft has long touted its annoyance that it's lost out to Google's power and standing in the industry and has even had to be content with using Yahoo's search facility until now.

The move, if true, would mark the first major step for Microsoft starting to fight back at ground that it has lost. However, both Google and Yahoo already seem one step ahead of the technology giant, launching desktop search tools for the PC last month.

If you want to try out the search engine for yourself whether it launches or not, Microsoft currently has a sandbox site for testing. http://sandbox.msn.com/ however when we tried the site, it seems the service has become unavailable, prompting even more rumours than rumours can cope with
