Samsung continues S-series with S830 and S1030 Two new models virtually identical to previous ones

Samsung not content with launch the S1050 and S850 earlier in the year have launched the S1030 and the S830 digital cameras.

Looking virtually identical to the previous models bar some spec changes, the Samsung S830 features 8.0 megapixel image sensor and a 3x optical zoom lens while the S1030 features a 10 megapixel sensor and a 3x optical zoom lens

The S830 features 20 megabytes of internal memory while the S1030 has 45MB. Other features include shutter speeds of up to 1/1000 sec for the S830 and Shutter speeds of up to 1/1500 sec for the S1030.

Both cameras feature a 2.5-inch LCD display, an ISO equivalent of 1600.

Colour effects include B/W, sepia, blue, green and red, 10 camera settings is easily accessible including special scene modes such as Night, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Dawn, Close-up, Sunset, Backlight, Fireworks and Beach & Snow and a movie mode.

The Movie mode lets users capture video in one of three resolutions, from 160 x 128 to 320 x 240 and 640 x 480, at up to 30fps in AVI (MPEG4) format. Movie stabilisation can be engaged to compensate for unwanted camera movement and subject blur.

Both models are due out later in the year. Prices are still to be confirmed.
