Could you cope without your computer for the day? That's what two Montreal residents are asking computer users to do tomorrow in what they've labelled World Shutdown day.

Called Shutdown Day, the site is asking people to be apart of what it calls "One of the biggest global experiments ever to take place on the Internet".

At the time of writing 54,203 people have said they would be able to cope without using their PC on 24 March compared to 8611 who said they will.

"The idea behind the experiment is to find out how many people can go without a computer for one whole day, and what will happen if we all participate!", the website's owners say on the site.

However breaking its own rules the site owners have said that the site will be accessible on the day.

Because we know how much you like gadgets, we will be bringing you all the latest gadget news regardless tomorrow.
