A day later than the US launch, Apple has launched its 8-Core Mac Pros today in the UK.

Starting at £1699 and available from today in the UK Apple Store, the new models will come with Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon “Woodcrest” processors, 1GB memory (667MHz DDR2 fully-buffered DIMM ECC), NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics with 256MB memory, 250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200-rpm hard drive and a 16x double-layer SuperDrive.

UK customers will have to pay a premium of almost £450 for buying in the UK.

Last month Apple mistakenly posted information on its online store but quickly retracted the product citing no comment to questions.

Rumours that the computer maker would be offering two of Intel's Quad-core chips in a Mac Pro to produce an 8-core Mac Pro have been ongoing since late last year.
