Kodak hope to simplify digital imaging with two new cameras

3 November 2003 1:38 GMT / By PRESS RELEASE

Comment: Even more cameras from Kodak - this time suited for the absolute beginner. Over 60 percent of the UK digital camera sales come from the lower end of the market and with Kodak announcing a further two cameras today, it shows they are committed to this sector.

EasyShare CX Models Designed for Everyday Point-and-Shoot Picture Taking

Extending the benefits of its popular EasyShare digital photography system to an even broader base of picture takers, Eastman Kodak Company today announced two new EasyShare digital cameras. The Kodak EasyShare CX6330 and CX6200 digital cameras combine award-winning ease-of-use features with outstanding picture quality and significant price-to-performance value.

"The additions to our CX camera line will allow more people to discover the advantages of the Kodak EasyShare digital photography system," said Chris Bowen, UK country manager for Kodak's Digital & Applied Imaging Division. "The ease of operation and most sought after camera features at an affordable price make it simple to shoot quality pictures for sharing with family and friends."

Kodak EasyShare CX6330 zoom digital camera The EasyShare CX6330 camera £199.99 is ideal for taking pictures that can be
made into crisp, sharp prints up to 279mm x 355mm. Multiple scene modes such as a sport, night, landscape and close-up make it simple to shoot under various conditions. It provides 3.1MP resolution, a 3X optical Kodak Retinar aspheric all-glass zoom lens, 3.3X advanced digital zoom, exclusive Kodak Colour Science technology, multi-zone auto focus, and auto picture rotation.
The camera also captures continuous digital video with audio.

The ability of the Kodak system to help people share their digital pictures is exceptional. A press of the CX6330 camera's red-jewelled "Share" button allows a person to immediately select printing, e-mailing, and mark as favourite options on the 1.6-inch indoor/outdoor LCD screen. The screen's size and bright display make it simple to share pictures with others on the camera itself, even in direct sunlight.

The Kodak EasyShare CX6330 zoom digital camera will be available in June.

Kodak EasyShare CX6200 digital camera Designed for value-conscious people making their first foray into digital, the Kodak EasyShare CX6200 £99.99 digital camera offers all the simplicity
of the EasyShare system. Getting great prints - up to 203mm x 254mm - is no problem thanks to 2 MP resolution and 3X continuous digital zoom. The 1.6-inch LCD screen can be used to both preview a shot and instantly review the snapped picture. The CX6200 camera's "Share" button encourages printing, e-mailing, and other tagging (e.g., mark as a favourite), allowing others to relive a moment in time.

The EasyShare CX6200 digital camera will be available worldwide in August.

Kodak EasyShare software and docks EasyShare CX6330 and CX6200 digital camera owners can quickly transfer their pictures to a connected computer with just one touch using the optional Kodak EasyShare camera dock 6000 £59.99. The dock also provides a full Ni-MH battery charge in less than three hours. EasyShare CX/DX6000- and LS600-series camera owners can also receive all the benefits of a dock, plus water-resistant Kodak 101mm x 152mm-inch photo prints in as little as 90 seconds, when using the Kodak EasyShare printer dock 6000 £199.99. Both products are now available.

Like the entire range of EasyShare cameras, the CX6330 and X6200 cameras include Kodak EasyShare software, providing effortless digital picture transfer, organisation, editing, e-mailing, and printing. The software's exclusive One Touch to Better Pictures feature - which takes advantage of proprietary colour technologies eveloped by Kodak - helps people get vibrant, true-to-life prints from home
inkjet printers, while reducing the trial, error and waste usually
associated with home photo printing. The award-winning Kodak EasyShare digital photography system - consisting of cameras, software, docks and printer docks, inkjet papers and accessories -
makes it simple for anyone to take, organise, share, and print high quality digital pictures. More information on Kodak EasyShare products is available at www.kodak.com/go/EasyShare.
