Rosie helps in the home

Integrated home control can operate nearly any system

NEWS: 1 May 2007 11:23 GMT by Ryan Haynes

Savant Systems has unveiled a completely integrated home control system that will send music around the house, undertake security surveillance and manage entertainment systems.

The Savant team has worked to bring "Rosie" to the home taking into consideration all electronic tools and devices including programmable systems, digital signal processing, telephony, switching systems, video processing, and home electronics integration.

The system uses intuitive interfaces through digital artwork, and advanced 3D graphics. "Rosie" is expected to be a highly intelligent control system, providing multi-room audio/video, digital media server and jukebox capabilities, security surveillance, home automation and control all within one integrated computer.

Rosie can help in the home with music and video downloading, movie tickets, online digital printing, telephony and karaoke. Alternatively, she can manage your concierge service with live video chat, dinner reservations, limo rental, theatre tickets and grocery shopping.

The modular system is centred on the Rosie Server, which features dual Xeon 5100 processor, 32GB of DDR RAM and 2.25TB of RAID 5 storage. It's all controlled from a touch wheel remote and various touch panels, and can pipe high quality audio, 1080p video, and home automation commands throughout your home.

We will keep you updated on UK availability.
