Full details on new Apple MacBooks

15 May 2007 14:14 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

As our previous reports suggested, the rumours were correct and Apple has today updated its consumer MacBook notebooks with the faster Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 1GB of memory and larger hard drives in all models.

The new version of the MacBook measures just an inch thick, features built-in 802.11n wireless networking for up to 2.5 times the performance and twice the range of 802.11g, an iSight video camera, Apple’s MagSafe Power Adaptor that safely disconnects when under strain, and iLife ’06 (giving you iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD, GarageBand and iWeb) and will run Mac OS X version 10.4.9.

"The MacBook is a huge hit with customers, and is one of the reasons that Mac sales are growing three times faster than PC sales", said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing. "The new MacBook is faster, has even more memory and storage, and is an ideal notebook for customers’ growing library of digital music, photos and movies".

Featuring a 13-inch widescreen display, the new MacBook comes in three models, 2.0GHz and 2.16GHz MacBook models (both in white) and a 2.16GHz MacBook model that is available in (all hype aside) a rather stunning black.

The 2.0GHz, 13-inch white MacBook, will be £699, the 2.16GHz, 13-inch white MacBook, £829 and the 2.16GHz, 13-inch black MacBook, for will be £949. All available now.
