With the announcement that the new BlackBerry 8300 Curve handset features a 2-megapixel digital camera, rumours have started circulating that RIM is going to be updating its popular Pearl handset later this year.

According to sites across the web the new handset, which will be called the rather fetching BlackBerry 8120 will be available in a range of colours including black, red, titanium, blue, and gold.

It will also feature the same 2-megapixel camera found on the Curve (pictured), as well as a GPS receiver and, unusually, Wi-Fi.

Rumours suggest that the phone will be launching in the US, Canada and the UK in September.

We will keep you posted.
