UK-based Evesham has announced an addition to its current notebook range – the Zieo N500-HD.

A 17-inch WSXGA X-Bright display, 2GB of RAM, the latest NVDIA graphics unit, a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 processor and a 160GB hard drive certainly appear to back up Evesham's angle for the Zieo N500-HD for a desktop replacement notebook.

To demonstrate what this new notebook could offer you, Evesham have kindly drawn up a sample spec list, should you be willing to part with just over a thousand of your finest British pounds:

Example Specification: Zieo N500-HD, £1099.00

Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 (2.2GHz, 4MB cache, 800MHz)
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
17-inch WSXGA X-Bright Widescreen Display (1680x1050)
512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT Graphics
160GB 5400rpm HDD (8Mb cache)
2GB DDR II RAM, 667MHz (2 x 1GB)
1GB Intel Turbo Memory
DVD/CD-RW/ Dual Layer DVD-RW drive
1.3 megapixel Camera
Bluetooth
Built-in Card Reader (SD/MMC/MS)
6 Cell Li-Ion Battery (life up to 2 hours approx)
10/100/1000 LAN
V90 56k modem
Built-in Audio and Speakers

Weight - 3.6Kg
Dimensions - 395mm x 278mm x 26.5-34.9mm

As you can see you get a fair old pile of gubbins, and although at 3.6kgs it's a bit of lump it's certainly no where near the 8kg that HP's Pavilion HDX laptop recently weighed in at - although that was touting a 20-inch screen. 17 inches is more than enough for us, thanks.
