Not content with old skool skateboards, the new kid on the block is the RipStik Caster Board. The RipStik Caster Board allows for acceleration with pushing; using its unique twisting motion moves you forward with out ever pushing off the ground. According to the company, the “RipStik’s 360 degree inclined casters and pivoting deck provide a carving motion just like a snowboard”.

A concave deck and traction plates provide foot control, which you’ll need for all that twisting. The RipStik Caster Board comes equipped with 76mm wheels, in a range of colours, and high performance bearings for a smooth ride. Oh, and the real difference is that the RipStik only has two wheels, rather than the surprisingly conservative 4 wheels you might expect. Will the two-wheeled monster knock the humble stakeboard off its perch? You decide.

It is recommended for kids aged 8 years and over, and amusingly, up to a maximum weight of 220lbs (that’s 15 stone). Damn, that's a fat 8-year-old.
