Stuck indoors? Get painting - virtually.

NEWS: 5 July 2007 0:00 GMT by Ian Hughes

As the British "summer" continues to feature rain, hail, flash floods, and generally miserable conditions (unless you're a duck - in which case it's great. But let's face it, if you are a duck and you're reading this, you shouldn't be wasting your time surfing the net - you should be in the circus or something…) it's safe to say you've probably been spending a fair amount of your spare time indoors. This is when the trouble tends to start.

You start saying things like: "maybe I should repaint the living room. And the bedrooms need a little freshener too". That's where it starts. Next, you're in Homebase with a basket full of tester pots, rollers and a new set of brushes. (You always need a new set of brushes - it doesn't matter how carefully you store them, they always go all crusty don't they?)

Back home you start painting little squares of colour on the walls all over your house and if you're anything like me that's how it will stay for the rest of the year, until your spouse/flatmate/significant other gets so fed up they make you do something about it. Or move out.

There is now another way. This clever little bit of software, originally designed for painters, decorators and interior designers, lets you recolour your house without all the expense, mess and domestic trauma normally associated with redecorating.

There's a free trial version you can play with, but the full version is only around £35.

A bargain, when you consider the alternative.
