Channel 4 Radio Group to launch ten new DAB stations Will challenge the BBC's DAB dominance

Ofcom has announced that is has awarded multi digital radio licences to the 4 Digital Group.
The 4 Digital Group is led by Channel 4 Radio and includes Emap, BSkyB and the Carphone Warehouse.
The licence has been granted for a 12-year period and the Group will launch ten new DAB radio stations, eight over the next year.
Channel 4 Radio will launch three national DAB stations, one aimed at the under 29-year-old market, a news and current affairs station and an all-music channel.
Other stations to be launched by other members of the group will include a station aimed at the female readership of "Closer" magazine and Sky News Radio.
Carphone Warehouse's involvement will come in the form of the development of audio chips so the DAB stations can be listened to on mobile phones.
The 4 Digital Group is going to team up with the BBC to on a joint DAB promotion.
