Chinese mobile capable of 120 decibel ringtones

9 July 2007 9:37 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

The QKphone 911, manufactured in China, is capable of playing music and ringtones at an ear-splitting 120 decibels.

This level of sound, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica, is recognised as the threshold of pain.

It manages this incredible noise thanks to five speakers and "dynamic 3D sound".

We assume, given the "911" in the phone's title this feature isn't merely meant to annoy slash inflict earache on others, but for emergency-type workers who cannot miss a call.

  • Hi,
Does anyone know where I can buy one of these QKphone 911 phones. I need one urgently. Any advice appreciated, as I need a phone with very loud ringtones.
    regards,
