Nikon extend camera warranty; launch cashback offer on S500

13 July 2007 17:15 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Nikon UK is so confident of the build quality of its cameras, it has announced today that it is extending the warranty for every model in its digital range from 1 September to 2 years.

To take advantage of the two year warranty customers are required to register their product. This extended warranty will also be available to customers who purchased a camera on or after 1st July 2007 when they register their product and if they have already registered Nikon will contact them directly to ensure they receive the extended warranty.

Mark Evans, Service Manager - Imaging, Nikon UK said, “We are confident that this will be a distinct benefit to all users and reinforces the confidence we have in the quality and durability of our products.”

Nikon has yet to confirm what happens to those who bought a Nikon camera before 1 July.

We will keep you posted.

In related news, Nikon UK has announced a £50 cashback scheme for its COOLPIX S500 digital camera model.

The promotion, which runs to the end of August, will allow customers to claim £50 cashback in the UK and €75 in Eire made on purchases between 13th July and 30th July 2007.

The 7.1 megapixel COOLPIX S500 boasts a 3x Nikkor zoom lens, up to 2000 ISO sensitivity for shooting in low light conditions, an ultra quick start up and high quality Vibration Reduction technology to ensure images are pin sharp.
