Japanese designers chart the web on Tokyo tube map

25 July 2007 18:19 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Further to a previous version, Japanese design company Information Architects has produced a new map of the web for 2007.

Called the Web Trend Map, the design links the 200 most popular web properties in the style of the Tokyo tube map.

A fascinating idea, the "lines" are named by web categories; news, blogs, technology, etc.

Some geographical Japanese in-jokes - such placing sites on tube stations that reflect their personality - will perhaps be lost on gaijin, but we can all appreciate the concept and aesthetics.

You can buy an A2 print for $25, or download it now, link below.
