Reports are suggesting that the government is planning to introducing video games studies as part of a wider media studies diploma for Britain's school kids.
Apparently, 14-year-olds will get the option to chose to learn about "the historical development of computer games".
The new diploma qualification will be equivalent to GCSEs, while sixth-formers will be able to study an advanced media studies Diploma that will be A-Level standard.
The higher qualification will require the students to "critically respond to a range of computer games" as well as discuss why people like playing them.
The new plans hope to see the diplomas introduced covering a range of topics not traditionally covered in education sylabusses such as construction, engineering, media and health and social care.
The plans for the roll-out for these new courses start from next year onwards - we're sooo going back to school.
