Proving that Apple rumour-mongering crosses culture and language barriers, French Apple-fans are all atwitter with the news that they'll be getting the iPhone soon.

Their Gallic "Pomme" rumour-mill suggests a 10th October launch date with Orange as the carrier.

The details given state that the iPhone will be sold in both Orange and France Telecom shops so as to increase the retail coverage.

Special multimedia fixed price plans will be introduced by Orange for iPhone customers.

Orange has been rumoured to the leader in the race for the iPhone en France, so it's not out of the realms of possibility...
