HP and Napster have teamed up to offer the Napster music subscription service on certain HP computers.

The deal will see an out-of-the-box instant access solution for customers to use Napster's service and will offer a free one-month intro period.

The deal will be for PCs in both the UK and Germany with all HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario desktop and notebook computers to have the software pre-load.

Napster's subscription service boasts more than four million tracks, 80 ad-free radio stations plus community features.

It costs £9.95 a month or £14.95 a month for the portable Napster To Go service, which means you can transfer tracks to any compatible MP3 player or PlaysForSure-enabled mobile handset.

A partnership that will benefit consumers or a corporate back rub that justs add more bloatware to your shiny new PC? You decide.
