Hard to believe as we trundle through the 21st Century, but apparently being left-handed is still a bit of a problem for some people. Did you know that in the British Army you'd have to learn to shoot right-handed? That's because the standard issue SA80 rifle's design would end up breaking your jaw and spraying your face with hot shell casings. Which is nice...

Computer mice, scissors, gardening tools, sports equipment and so many other everyday things, can still be a bit tricky to, er, get to grips with, if you're left-handed.

Today it's payback time because it's Left-Handers Day 2007!

There's loads of information and advice here, particularly for parents with left-handed children who can sometimes struggle with simple things like learning to write. I was forced to write with my "correct" hand by my primary school teachers, which explains why (a) I'm partially ambidextrous and (b) my hand-writing is so bloody awful.

So, as a Partial Lefty I salute my brothers and sister on this special day.
