The Carphone Warehouse has acquired Mobiles.co.uk for an undisclosed amount.
The mobile phone website which was established 11 years ago has beaten Carphone in various awards it seems to be a case of if you can't beat 'em, buy 'em.
As the first mobile phone website in the UK, Mobiles is the largest web-only mobile phone store in the UK, dispatching thousands of handsets a month.
It provides instant credit decisions on all five networks, so is quick and easy for customers to use.
The Carphone Warehouse has said they will run the website as a separate business unit.
"We're just going to keep it as it is. It's targeting a different segment of the market."
"We can combine what it's doing with our back-end infrastructure – as we have done with E2Save and OneStopPhoneShop – to give it help with purchasing logistics and accessories to make it an even stronger business."
